This page has been set up to administer donations to the Walk with William Tribute fund, which is dedicated to raising money for Guide Dogs UK in memory of William. 

The ultimate aim, which is William's wish, is to fundraise the training of a guide dog puppy, named Billy.

The cost of training a qualified guide dog to the point of placement with a blind owner is approximately £35,000 to £50,000. 

Our first goal is to reach £2500 (net of gift aid) which will allow us to apply to name a puppy after William, and fund the first year of Billys training.

Any money raised above the initial £2500 stage will go toward guide dogs uk, and help train puppies.

Updates on trust fundraising activities, progress and events, as well as updates on Billy the puppy, will be shared via William's Facebook page. 

Here are some words from William about his inspiration for this idea:

The past ten years have been the happiest decade in my life since my beautiful wife, Sheila, and all of you, my dear friends have entered my life. I have literally had thousands of prayers said on my behalf, along with dozens of masses across the world, and hundreds of candles lit on my behalf. I have also had more supportive messages than I could possibly reply to sent to me daily, offering your prayers, moral support, and good wishes. In short, there is not been a man who has felt as blessed and as much loved as I have. You have humbled me with your genuine outpouring and unashamed expression of love for life, and for me. 

It is only the love, prayers, and moral support consistently displayed by each of you during my last journey that has made the passage more purposeful and meaningful. I cannot adequately describe in words how much your support has meant to me and my wife, Sheila, over the past decade. 

Despite the many medical challenges, and the numerous life-saving operations, and other medical treatments I have had along the way, you have continued to walk with me, ensuring that even during parts of my last journey when your own personal matters of urgency needed attending to, that another was there to walk alongside me instead, holding my hand.

It is to my immeasurable pleasure to know that even before I die, that this trust fund has been established, and kick-started in advance; enabling all former friends who walked with me on my journey, to walk with other Williams during the years ahead. Do this knowing that I am there always holding your hand as you walk.
